About the Task Force

The Stilly-Snohomish Fisheries Enhancement Task Force is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, registered as a charitable organization with the Washington Secretary of State. The mission of the Task Force is to ensure the future of salmon in the Stillaguamish and Snohomish River and Island County watersheds, a combined land area of more than 2,400 square miles. Since its beginning in 1990, the Task Force has directed its resources and energy to the challenge of developing community partnerships and strategies to improve and restore the recreational and commercial fisheries of the Pacific Northwest.

Volunteer Opportunities

How YOU can assist the Task Force

  • Assist with weekend plantings.
  • Assist with weekend planting set-up and clean-up.
  • Baseline monitoring and quality control at plantings.
  • Perform vegetation monitoring.
  • Assist with beach and river cleanups.
  • Assist with carcass distributions (fish flings).
  • Assist with native plant salvages (mid-week and weekends).
  • Assist with school groups mid-week.
  • Assist with newsletter printing and bulk mailings.
  • Assess future project sites (mapping, habitat assessment, plant identification).
  • Solicit donations.
  • Donate funds and/or equipment for volunteers and staff.
  • Water quality monitoring.
  • Find or provide planting sites along streams and/or wetlands.
  • Mid-week planting set-up assistance.
  • Earth Day Assistant Coordinator.
  • Gardeners - Grow native trees and shrubs for the Task Force in your yard.
  • Maintain the TF website
  • Computer support specialist.
  • Assist with knotweed (invasive plant) surveys.
  • Macroinvertebrate (stream bug) monitoring.
