What We Fund
The Task Force makes funding and volunteer resources available to habitat restoration projects that benefit the native salmonid species of the Snohomish, Stillaguamish or Island County watersheds. Salmonids include the various salmon (Chinook, coho, pink, chum, sockeye), steelhead trout, cutthroat trout, and native char (i.e. bull trout, Dolly Varden) species. Projects must address factors that limit the long-term viability of salmonids. Projects must focus on the protection, enhancement, or restoration of salmonid habitat-forming processes.

How to Apply
Interested in applying for Task Force funding for your restoration project?

1. We encourage applicants to contact the Task Force before applying. Throughout our process, we try to make the best use of your time and ours.
2. We require a Preliminary Project Proposal from the applicant. The Preliminary Project proposal gives us a general idea of your project objectives, approach, scope and methods. It also indicates the level of support requested of the Task Force.
3. We strongly encourage you to submit your Preliminary Project Proposal and discuss your proposal with Task Force staff long before the deadline. It is not unusual for applicants to begin discussions with us many months before they submit a proposal.
4. In some cases, we fund projects based on the Preliminary Project Proposal. In others we may request additional information or begin discussions with the applicant regarding project development.
5. The Task Force staff reviews all proposals and works with applicants to develop quality projects with high funding probability. The Task Force Project Advisory Committee and Board review proposals for technical merit and appropriateness to Task Force goals. A statewide Citizen Advisory Board then reviews the proposals.
6. Once the approval process is complete, the Task Force will execute a funding contract with the applicant and your work may commence.
