Funding:  Volunteer Restoration Stipend Program

The Stilly Snohomish Task Force has funds available for community groups that are looking for alternative fundraising opportunities. Groups can participate in community-based salmon habitat restoration efforts, raising funds for their organization and helping fish and wildlife at the same time! Schools may also use the funds for bus transportation to and from restoration projects. We offer these funds in exchange for a commitment to provide volunteer labor for salmon habitat restoration projects in the Snohomish and Stillaguamish watersheds.

Guidelines:

  • Stipends are available to volunteer groups and schools in exchange for specified contributions of labor to Task Force projects.
  • Stipends are available to representative groups, not to individuals.
  • Stipends are awarded on a case by case basis.
  • Minimum levels of volunteer participation are required (such as 100 volunteer hours in exchange for a $200 stipend).
  • A contract specifying the stipend amount and required volunteer commitment is required for each stipend.
  • Groups may use the stipends to aid their programs.
  • Stipends may be used to fund transportation to and from project sites. For example, a school group that wants to contribute labor to a Task Force project could apply the stipend toward bus transportation to the project site.
  • Groups may not receive more than one stipend per year.
  • Stipends generally range from $200 to $400 per group.
  • Recipients will receive a complimentary group membership to the Task Force and will receive notice of upcoming Task Force activities.
